Silver was the first song written for beauty school. The song is a fictional story about a young couple who move away from each other with the best intentions of making a long distance relationship work but struggle under the reality and eventually fall apart.
The story is a metaphor for Dan and Joe when Dan left their last band Calls Landing and their struggle to write songs alone that were as good as the ones they wrote together.
